The name TRAVELER refers to a natural phenomenon, a figure of a Traveler with a walking staff making his way across Mt. Washington with its community at heart. It is actually a rock formation that is visible only for a few months every year, and most notably from UNION, WA. The Traveler appears when just the right amount of snow has melted and disappears as summer approaches.
Our logo proudly includes the Traveler and he is ready to EXPLORE Hood Canal, offering only the best of lodging, local food, beverage, specialty services, activities, recreation, shopping, art and music. To us, the Traveler evokes inspiration, beauty and remembrance.
So when visiting our magical area that we call home, our guests actually become the Traveler, leaving with a lifetime of memories and sense of community.

We had a great time - the studio is the perfect size and well furnished. Kitchen was well stocked, and there were several restaurants within walking distance. We would note that the house is across the highway from the water, not directly on the water. This wasn't an issue for us, as there is still super easy beach access, but it was a bit different than expected
This was a great place to stay while on a road trip up the 101. It's a very nicely appointed cabin, with large updated kitchen and bathroom. The AC worked great. The private waterfront right across the road is a nice bonus - a beautiful place to sit and relax. The cabin is also right down the road from Hook & Fork, a great spot to grab a bite. The listing was accurate and we enjoyed our stay - thanks!
I had a relaxing stay! The view was impeccable, and the layout of the studio itself was even better than they were able to show in the photos. Essentially, the bathroom in the middle acts as a divider between the sleeping space and the kitchen/living area, so it felt like two separate spaces. I was also able to take an unavoidable work video call with ease at the work station while looking out on the water, which was wonderful. Kerry was very responsive and had some great local recommendations. This is a great spot for a single person looking to get away or a couple wanting some relaxation!
Kerry’s little home is beautiful and peaceful! The kayaks were awesome to take out on the water and we were glad we added them to our reservation. Bed is very soft and the room is dark and quiet which I appreciate after staying in many rentals which have so many lights inside and outside their homes! Our main suggestion (especially for the price) is to get a better coffee setup/option. Keurig is not great and having a great cup of coffee (or even good) in the morning would have made this the best. All in all, a great find on Hood Canal and we would recommend!
It was a lovely stay. Very comfortable and for a small place it still feels spacious, well appointed, and fully equipped. Finishes and items provided for the stay are quality and the windows are large and open to very peaceful views while still feeling private and secure. This was our second stay. The last was 2 years ago and everything was still very clean and fresh! We look forward to coming back for another stay sometime! Thank you!
